FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Try locally made beers with ingredients provided by a local provider!

GRAVENHURST, ONTARIO March 24, 2021 -- Sawdust City Brewing Company has partnered with local brewing supplier,  Brew Culture,  to create four unique lagers called the Lager Series, this spring.  Each beer uses a variety of ingredients including a hop that has never before been used in a North American production brew.  The Lager Series brews will be available in cans of 473mls for a limited time at our retail store starting the beginning of April, 2021.

“We’ve been working with Dan and the Brew Culture team for years and it means a lot to us that we are in the same small community,”  says Sam Corbeil, Brewmaster and Co-founder at Sawdust City Brewing Company. “Now that they are in the malt game, it made a lot of sense for us to build on that relationship and collaborate on some fun beers. At Sawdust we love making old school Germanic-style lagers. So with Brew Culture’s new and exciting malt varieties we had a lot of fun collaborating and brewing our takes on these classic lagers.”

Each of the Lager Series beers is based on a classic or new world lager recipe. To create the beers, Sawdust City gave each of its brewers complete freedom to use Brew Culture’s wide variety of hops, malts, and yeast to craft and name the lager of their choice.

“I decided to make my dad his favourite style of beer,” says Noelle Stapinsky, Lead Brewer at Sawdust City Brewing Company.  “I call my brew 'DAD' (Dave’s Affordable Dortmunder). This style is hard to find in Ontario and not many breweries make it. As a brewer I’ve always leaned towards making darker beers such as stouts, dunkels and porters. So writing a lager recipe and trying to understand the water chemistry of the region this style originally came from was incredibly interesting for me.”

Soft Bodied Pils New World Pilsner crafted by Production Manager James and You Know What Really Gets My Goat? Bockbier crafted by Brewmaster Sam,  will be released March 31st. Dave’s Affordable Dortmunder crafted by Lead Brewer Noelle and Gravenhurst Steam California Common crafted by brewers Jon and Andrew will be released April 7th. Cans of the Lager Series will be available for purchase at Sawdust City’s retail store located in downtown Gravenhurst and online at sawdustcitybrewing.com.

More information about the Lager Series can be found at sawdustcitybrewing.com.
